He also took some time in Atlantic City to talk about the members of the team.
"It has been a great pleasure in having Madhuriji [Dixit Nene] on the USA leg of the tour," he said. "She has been an icon in the Indian film industry and we're very happy that she could be with us on this tour. Abhishek, Aishwarya and Ritiesh bring surprise packages with them. Abhishek and Ritiesh are here for the first time. But when you see them perform, you do not believe they are here on their first tour. [Music directors] Vishal and Shekhar are a great combination. I have had wonderful times sitting in their studios in Mumbai and choosing tunes. And to see them now perform live has been a great revelation for me."
Last year, he had felt that his family and he should be doing a concert because he had not done something live for a long time. "I thought we should put together a group of people that, perhaps, the audiences in the West have not seen so far," he explained.
But he was also aware that he cannot be a powerhouse, he said chuckling. "I told them to try and keep me as minimal as possible: that I won't be able to last that long, I won't be able to do this," he continued. "But looking at their enthusiasm, one forgets one's age and that one has been in the line for 40 years! It's been a wonderful experience."
