Making beautiful music together

Kalyanji-Anandji

Brothers from Kutch, Gujarat, Kalyan Virji Shah and Anand Virji Shah hit the Hindi film music scene like a storm.

Making their presence felt with the catchy Dum dum diga diga (Chhaliya), the good-natured siblings went on to score a musical whopper with Jab Jab Phool Khile.

The eclectic temperament of their melodies is evident in the playful notes of Khaike paan Banaraswala (Don) and Laila o laila (Qurbaani), romantic pursuits of Pal bhar ke liye (Johnny Mera Naam) and O saathi re (Muqaddar Ka Sikander) and mellow reflections of Zindagi ka safar (Safar).

And though Kalyanji passed away in 2000, the timeless appeal to this Padmashri-winning duo's music will continue to live on.
