Laxmikant-Pyarelal
Call them Laxmikant Shantaram Kudalkar and Pyarelal Ramprasad Sharma or Laxmikant Pyarelal or Laxmi Pyaare as they are fondly known. But you simply cannot deny the brilliance at music-making of these two friends turned partners.
Their keen understanding of their medium and it's larger-than-life demands enabled them to deliver tunes that would invariably hit a chord with the listeners. It also helped them to adapt with changing times like no other composer.
No wonder Subhash Ghai employed the pair to helm chart busting soundtracks of their career for his movies. Ghai blockbusters like Karz, Karma, Ram Lakhan, Saudagar and Khal Nayak are cases in this point.
Be it the touching sentimentality of Dosti, teeny bopper sentiments of Bobby, fun-filled masala music of Amar Akbar Anthony or show-stopping item numbers like Ek do teen for Tezaab, rock 'n' roll or retro, LP knew it all.
