Bollywood gets bookish

Bollywood seems to be the latest inspiration for writers. Just this year alone there have been six Bollywood-gets-bookish personalities.

While some got rave reviews others were not so lucky.

Rediff.com takes a look at the books that made news:

Looking for the Big B by Jessica Hines

The author was more in the news for her relationship with actor Aamir Khan than her book.

She came to India as a student and was fascinated by Bollywood. She loved Indian films, especially Don, Deewar and Sholay so much that she decided to write a book on the main lead (Amitabh Bachchan). The actor agreed to the book when she approached him.

The book took a lot of time in the making. In between Jessica made headlines when she revealed her alleged involvement with actor Aamir Khan, whom she says fathered a child from her.

Aamir as usual never responded.

When the book was finally released, critics found it more of Jessica's personal journey rather a study of Bollywood. Even Amitabh Bachchan disowned it.
