A R Murugadoss, writer and director of the Tamil blockbuster Ghajni (2005) is remaking the film in Hindi.
The yet-untitled project will star Aamir Khan and Asin. The original had Surya Siva Kumar, Nayantara and Asin.
Ghajini has Surya and Asin in love with each other. Tragedy strikes when Asin is bumped off after uncovering a racket involving children. Surya suffers from short-term memory loss after he tries to save Asin. He can only remember incidents that happened 15 minutes ago.
The only way he can keep his memory alive is through photographs, tattoos and drawings. Nayantara, a medical student who is looking for an interesting case for a college project, joins Surya in the search for Asin's killers.
There are reports that Aamir will go bald for this role. There are also rumours that Ghajni will be called Kajri in the Hindi remake. However, Aamir has denied this.
