If you were given a chance to start your life all over again, would you prefer making your debut as a hero?
Things have been going very well for me so I would prefer things to happen this way. I think it worked to my advantage that I started off doing negative roles. I would not have perhaps got such a variety of roles if I had started off as a hero.
All said and done, I believe it is not just my own merits that worked for me, but God's grace as well. And I have been very lucky that way too.
You were well placed as a software engineer. Was it a tough decision to quit such a lucrative job and join films?
Frankly, it was not an easy decision when the offer came. I had completed nine months as a software engineer in an American company and could have probably gone to the US.
For a software engineer, it is a big opportunity, both career wise and monetary wise. But for me, acting has always been a dream.
So, when the call came at that time, I was a bit confused thinking whether to grab it or wait for some more time. It got me thinking for a while and I decided to give it a try. I took a leave of absence from my job. My colleagues have given me great support.
Did you ever regret the decision?
Never. I am absolutely enjoying what I am doing now and for me, acting is exciting, perhaps more than doing anything else. I have absolutely no regrets and things have worked out very well for me so far.
