Meet Simran's new hero

Indrajith -- son to late Sukumaran and Mallika -- chucked his job as a software engineer to act in films.

While his younger brother Prithviraj scaled new heights as a hero in both Malayalam and Tamil films, Indrajith began as a villain and did character roles for the last 5 years. He also starred alongside his younger brother in the highly successful Classmates.

Now he plays hero to Simran in her comeback film, in Heart Beats. He is also starring in Santosh Sivan's English film Road to the sky.

In this interview with Vijay, the actor talks about Heart Beats, Simran and much more. Excerpts:

How was it working with Simran?

I have always been her fan. She was quite a sensation in Tamil films. She is a superb actor. During shooting, I found her extremely friendly and humble. I was surprised when she asked me if she was doing it right before the camera.

What is her role in the film?

Simran plays a mystery woman whose whereabouts are known only to a select few. She has a pivotal role.

What about your role?

My character in Heart Beats is that of Binoy Idicula, a rich spoilt brat, who is a medical student and a likeable gang leader. His parents are in Nigeria so he lives in a huge bungalow near the medical college campus. The most interesting thing about the role is its varying shades.
