Maathaad Maathaad Mallige is a much awaited film because of two reasons. One, Dr Vishnuvardhan and Suhasini are coming together on screen after a long gap, and two, it is for the first time that a hugely successful and award winning director like Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar has teamed up with these stars.
Nagathihalli's previous films like Amruthadhaare, Nanna Preethiya Hudugi and America America were silver jubilee hits. Though writer-director Nagathihalli has always made films on serious subjects, he blends both the artistic and commercial elements effectively.
Maathaad Mathaad Mallige tells the story of a peace loving farmer who takes on the might of multinationals and big corporates, who want to take over an entire village.
The film takes a strong position on the reforms and globalisation that are taking place at the cost of displacement of the natives. The film also exposes the nexus between the politicians and the rich corporates. The film has been shot in many inaccessible villages in Bellary, Karwar, Mysore and Dakshina Kannada districts.
Nagathihalli has once again trusted his music director Mano Murthy to compose the songs of this film. The audio is already a big hit.
