Darshan's love interest in Thangigaagi is Mumbai-based Pooja Bafna -- who played second lead in Nagarjuna's recent Boss.
"I saw the Tamil original in Chennai along with my co-artists and friends while shooting for Shashtri," revealed Darshan. "I liked the film immensely and told my friend and producer Anaji Nagaraj to procure the rights. But we were too late. I am happy the producers of Thangigaagi approached me to do the film."
"I accepted the offer with one condition: that they make the film with the same passion we saw in the original. Now," Darshan smiles, "I can tell you confidently that the producers have faithfully followed my advice. I hope the film does well commercially because I want to work with a director like Sathya again who can write fantastic dialogues for me."
