Deewaar
Yash Chopra's Deewar gave Amitabh some of his career-best dialogues.
The film tells the story of a widow (Nirupa Roy) and her two sons (Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor). One joins the police force and the other becomes a gangster.
Amitabh goes on the wrong side of law because he felt the system robbed him of his father and put his mother in her present state of misery.
The film was rumoured to be loosely based on the life of Mumbai's former underworld don Haji Mastan.
Deewar is one of Bachchan's personal favourites too. In a recent interview, he stated that if Abhishek had to do two of his films, they would be Zanjeer and Deewar.
