P C Sreeram: Ready for Bollywood

The one question he faces everyday now is -- how was it shooting Amitabh Bachchan? "Now I understand why he is so popular; it is only because of his discipline. He came to shoot for the film after his illness. I feel he looks much more healthy, energetic and intense now. In the first half of this film, he has a ponytail, and he looks so good in it."

Having shot legendary actors like Sivaji Ganesan in Thevar Magan (left) and Kamal Haasan in Nayagan, Thevar Magan and Kuruthi Punal and now Bachchan, PC (as he is called) says the difference between these actors and the others is that "they can make the frame come alive."

"Amitabh Bachchan," he adds, "does certain things that make the scenes go to a different platform. For example, there is a suffix and prefix to every shot, but the shot is just about a guy going out. And Bachchan is one actor who could contribute that extra something to the shot with extra involvement. It gives the shot totality."
