Mohanlal is Major Mahadevan

Mohanlal, one of the finest actors in the country, has just finished a film called Keerthichakra directed by retired army officer, Major Ravi. The film is based on Major Ravi's experiences as an army commando in Kashmir, and focuses on an operation to flush out terrorists.

Large portions of the film were shot in Kashmir. In an exclusive interview with rediff.com, Mohanlal talks about the role in greater detail.

You are just back after shooting in Kashmir.

Yes we were in Srinagar. I was told it's been a long time since a film shoot took place there. But we had to go there because this film cannot be shot anywhere else.
