Tamil Cinema: The year so far

The only thing said of Thalainagaram when it was first released was that the film had successful director (and Khushboo's husband) Sundar C as the hero. The heroine was Jyothirmayi from Kerala, not at all hot property in Tamil cinema. It was also another underworld story.
And yet, Sundar C's performance was a surprise. What could have worked in its favour are the film's hilarious dialogues, written by its director Suraj. Until now, Suraj was known for the funny dialogues he had given all films directed by Sundar C.
