What about the Telugu version of Amruthadhaare? Apparently, only a few scenes are now being shot, with much of the Kannada version retained?
I don't know where you got this information from. We are only retaining portions that had Amitabh Bachchan, but we are shooting the rest of the film with many well-known artists from the Telugu film industry. A veteran like Jayasudha will be playing my mother in the film.
I am happy that I am returning to the Telugu film industry after a long gap. I did act in Abhimanyu earlier, with Kalyan Ram as the hero. It was a remake of my first Kannada film, Abhi. Abhimanyu was not successful though, so I didn't get more offers for a Telugu film. I am sure I will be accepted there after the release of the Telugu remake of Amruthadhaare.
I am told you wanted the track Bhool Gaya Sub Kuch to be shot in the same sensuous way it was shot in the Hindi version of Julie. Will you be playing more glamorous roles in the future?
When director Poornima Mohan first spoke to me about Julie, I was in Mumbai undergoing training at an acting school. In my ten sittings with Poornima before the start of the film, I found that she had a passionate desire to make this film a classic. I wanted this song to be shot in a romantic style only because it had to look sensuous on screen. Julie is very close to my heart. I had a good co-star like Dino Morea, and we shot at good locales like Karwar and Goa.
