Ramya: Golden girl of Kannada cinema

2005 has been a golden year for you. This year, you have signed many big budget Kannada films apart from working in a Telugu film again. Do you think you have reached your peak?

I don't know whether I am at the peak of my career or not, but I have realized many of my dreams during the past year. Akash, released in April last year, became the biggest hit of my career. My good friend Appu (Puneet Raj Kumar), who has a larger than life image in Kannada cinema, was doing a second film with me.

Gauramma, which followed, was something I was looking for. It was the first time I was doing a film with a big hero like Uppi (Upendra). Gauramma was my name in the film too, which was great considering the standing Uppi has in the industry. Then came Amruthadhaare, which was also a silver jubilee film.

You may think I am little over-ambitious, but I want to repeat the same level of achievement this year. I hope my next three films -- starting with Sevanthi Sevanthi -- will be silver jubilee hits.
