George Clooney

Taking the 'more is infallible' Hollywood mantra to obscene extremes, Schumacher's 1999 follow-up, Batman & Robin was one of the biggest comic-book movie turkies ever.

Starring everyone from Arnie to Uma Thurman, Joel threw hunk George Clooney into the batsuit, shocking fanboys across the world. The reasonably unwatchable film will forever be remembered for just one thing:

Nipples.

The superhero costumes, in an extremely controversial tactic, had nipples. And that was just too much to bear. The fact that most Batman fans begrudgingly agree to the homosexual aspects of the Dark Knight's persona paled in front of his actually having visible nipples.

George was a fabulous Bruce Wayne, even as he sucked at being Batman. Not as if that mattered, of course. This was Nipplegate.

The film deservedly sank, sadly taking the entire Batman franchise with it.
