Conceptually similar to Indian Idol and Lakme Fashion House, the newest reality show featuring wannabe singers is Fame Gurukul. It features the contestants staying together -- in the Gurukul, under Headmistress Ila Arun -- and learning the craft over 14 weeks.

Fourteen hopefuls have been selected after auditions in Mumbai, Indore, Kolkata and Delhi. Two will be dropped initially and the remaining 12 will go to the next round.

Every week, next week onwards, four participants will be dropped after the judges -- KK, Shankar Mahadevan and Javed Akhtar -- decide against them.

But, from the four dropped contestants, three will be taken back -- one based on SMS votes, one based on the judging panel, and one based on the decisions of the remaining participants.

Last week, three contestants were dropped -- Deepak Singh Meher from Delhi, Deepshikha Sharma from Jaipur, and Qazi Touqeer from Kashmir -- and one will be coming back this week.

Patcy N got to know the remaining eleven Fame Gurukul contestants.
