Shamit Tyagi
I am from Goregaon (a Mumbai suburb). I'm 25. I did my graduation from Delhi's Kirodimal College. I came to Mumbai almost three years back to pursue my career in music. I came to know about Fame Gurukul through ads on television, and went through four auditions to make it to the final 14.
To qualify, I sang Upar Khuda from Kachche Dhaage, Jeene Ke Hai Char Din and Tum Jo Mil Gaye Ho.
I was working in a call centre. I did come to Mumbai for music but have certain responsibilities towards my mother and grandfather. I started earning well, I was a team manager, and everybody forgot my music career, but I made a decision and quit my job two and a half months back.
When I was one year old, my father passed away. We were two brothers and one sister. My sister is married and my younger brother passed away some years back. I am the only earning member in the family, trying hard to make it big.
