Directing one of the world's finest actors, someone who has worked with Satyajit Ray, Govind Nihalani, Shyam Bengal, Roland Joffe, Mike Nichols… could not have been easy for a one film and little known director.
Says Piyush Jha, "Om Puri is a very giving person and surrenders to the director's way of thinking. In fact, he was instrumental in helping me get a lot from my ensemble cast."
Not divulging his expectations of the film yet, Jha prefers to play safe. It's better to speak of a world class actor than the film at this stage perhaps. "I think a feel for comedy (in films) will be triggered off by his performance."
