King of Bollywood is comparable to Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron in terms of humour, feels Om Puri.
"Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron is supposed to be a social satire, on the police, builders, politicians, municipality. This film is a satire on films. More pronounced, underlined but the situations are real," says the actor.
The idea of the film came to Jha when he was in America for a couple of years.
"Wherever I went in the US-UK, I realised that Bollywood had become like a cultural identity of India. Bollywood was a frontline cultural phenomena," says Jha, a MBA who worked with Grey Worldwide before making his first film, Chalo America.
He wanted an actor to play KK who did not have stardom attached to his persona and was also a great actor. "I had made a list of likely actors and Mr Puri topped the list."
