Sumathy Ram is the only new face in the film. All the others are very talented and experienced.

We have three powerful characters in the film, Viswam, Thulasi and Siva played by Mammootty, Nandita Das and Manoj K Jayan respectively. I saw a picture of Manoj K Jayan in a magazine and immediately decided that he was my Siva. He will really surprise the audience.

It was a great experience for me to see my characters coming alive and walking! Till the re-recording started, I was seeing my dream, and once Ilayaraja entered the scene to do the re-recording, I started hearing my dream.
