How did you decide on Mammootty?

Viswam's character is a kind of a charming gentleman. I felt the perfect person physically as well as performance-wise was Mammootty. He was the best I could get. I felt he also justifies Viswam, who is a half Namboodiri. Even his accent suited Viswam.

I sent my people to him with the script, and he was curious. He likes to experiment. He believes that first-time directors do well.

When I met him, I told him, 'this is what my dream is about, and you are my Viswam. So, you don't have to do anything

but just be there for me.' He told me making a dream into a film was difficult. I told him I could do it.

But he countered, 'You don't know anything about films. Nobody can make a dream into a film.' So I challenged him, and told him that I would show him my dream.'

Actually, it was not hard convincing him to be my Viswam.

Last week, I called him and said, please come and see my dream.
