Though Dhanush's father Kasturi Raja started Dreams immediately after his first film Thulluvatho Ilamai was a hit, it didn't proceed much further as the family decided to give priority to Selvaraghavan's Kaadal Kondein. After Kaadal Kondein hit the screens, Dhanush was flooded with offers and got so busy with outside projects that he had no time for the home project.

Finally, when he started shooting for Dreams after a long gap, his father realised his son had grown from 17 to 22, and had changed a lot physically. It is said that Kasturi Raja had to re-shoot almost all the portions he did earlier; still, the film looks ancient.

Though Dhanush had a dream run till Thiruda Thiruda, his last two films flopped miserably. Nobody expects much from Dreams either. But after gathering a lot of media attention with his wedding announcement to Rajnikant's eldest daughter Aishwarya, the film may have a good opening.
