Rishtey [The Champ]

Indra Kumar, the maker of such fare as Dil, Beta and Mann cast Anil Kapoor in the role Jon Voight played in The Champ, released over two decades ago.

The story revolves around an ex-boxer and single parent who tries his best to raise his son correctly till the mother shows up to reclaim him. In the end, the father has to risk his life in the boxing ring. As is usually the case with most Hindi films, all's well that ends well.

Rishtey opened to scathing reviews and was dismissed by the audience.

Anil Kapoor said, 'I think 90 per cent of the audience will identify with Rishtey. It speaks of universal emotions.'
