1964
Love laughs, sings and dances. Looking back at the black-and-white tragedies, it is difficult to believe they were made on the same planet as Kashmir Ki Kali. A rich man shuns his wealth. Criticised for his crazy decision, he leaves home. He meets a flower girl who cares little for his wealth. They fall in love.

Sepia
There definitely are places where love is always in the air. Kashmir Ki Kali sets a trend for location-romances like Love In Tokyo and, then, Love In Simla. The movie also transforms the plump Shammi Kapoor into a dancing hero.

Uncut
Though he is Raj Kapoor's younger brother, Shammi does not make his debut with a RK production. He makes it on his own, by evoking James Dean and Elvis Presley in Tumsa Nahin Dekha. His first film, shot five years earlier, is a flop.
