They make music on PCs sound better

April 25, 2008
If you want to meet two needs common to most laptop users of needing more USB ports and better-than-built-in speaker sound quality, the Logitech AudioHub is the device for you and it costs Rs 6,595.

If you are looking for some beautiful speakers then the JBL Spyro, a cute-looking pair of PC speakers, might just be it.

Before one dismisses the Spyro outright, mainly due to its uncanny resemblance to flowers, remember that its sound quality is great and they take up very little space.

The functional issues here are that the touch-sensitive volume controls that sit on the speaker don't respond quickly enough.

Talking of sound performance, Spyro's subwoofer is quite capable of providing a nice kick-drum thud and rounding out the bass guitar in rock songs. Those looking for a nice, cute and simple set of computer speakers should definitely look at the JBL Spyro, which retails at around Rs 7,990.
