Jet Airways: 14 years of flying high!
May 22, 2007
High flying dreams: After 14 years of flying, Naresh Goyal wants Jet Airways to be among the top five international airlines in the next five years.
"I strongly believe that Indians can create and run an airline, which competes with the best in the world such as Singapore Airlines, British Airways, Cathay and Emirates," Goyal said at a function to mark the airline's 14th anniversary.
Jet is in the process of acquiring 10 each of Boeing 777-300 ER and Airbus 330-200 aircraft. While the two have already arrived, the rest will be inducted soon.
Jet also plans to set up base in Shanghai, Hong Kong and South Africa, besides expanding its network in the US and Europe. It also plans to fly to the Gulf by 2008.
With Brussels as its European hub, Jet will connect several European destinations and of course fly from five Indian cities to different locations in the US and Canada.
