Video: A picture of communal harmony

As one of the historic centres of Mumbai's Muslim community, Mohammed Ali Road is always bustling. But during the holy month of Ramzan, this is especially so, as thousands congregate here to say their evening prayers and break their fasts. The end of Ramzan, during which most Muslim families fast for 29 to 30 days, culminates in the festival of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Outside the masjid, large, circular, aluminium thals begin to appear, propped on banisters, countertops, plastic tables and even the pavement itself. They are piled high with Pakoras, Mutton Samosas, fresh watermelon and sundry other items, a meal fit for kings but to be enjoyed by all.
