Chalk towers in the sea

If you come to Isle of Wight, a visit to Alum Bay is a must. Besides being home to the stunning Needles, it also packs in a whole lot of other tourist attractions.

The Needles, which are basically pointy mounds of chalk rising out of the sea, one of which collapsed in 1764 storm, is an arresting landmark to the multi-hued sandy bay. Right upfront is a lighthouse, which was built in 1859.

The backdrop looks so dramatic, I couldn't help picturing a Bollywood brand of face-off between Sanjay Dutt and Amitabh Bachchan with a blazing electric guitar doing its bit.
