'My wife has been depressed ever since she moved out of her parents' home'

August 1, 2008

nitin4u23 asked, Hi this is first time going to visit your site. my problem is regarding my wife. When she come from her mother's house her attitude was completely change e.g. she keep mourn for some days, didn't gave much attention on her family life.

Love Guru answers, She is adjusting to a new household and it is understandable. You need to support her and make her happy at this time instead of expecting her to dive straight into family life in your house. She's not a trained dog, she's a person with real emotions!

sri asked, a girl expressed a love to me, and i too agreed, but suddenly after 3 months she says she loves other, but she chatted with me hot even she said abt another love. she said she joked with me, and again says she is in love with some one. what to do

Love Guru answers, Stop paying attention to women like her, who try to make love out to be a game. Wish her good luck and tell her to have a happy life, because you don't have time for her round-about talk.

pop asked, I'm in love with a girl, she also loves me a lot, but her mother is against our marriage, because of different castes. My lover says she wants to stay the same way without marrying anyone if her mother doesnot agree for our marriage. I did agree to her, Can you let me know will this work out for us

Love Guru answers, It may work out for the present, but eventually you'll both want the next stage in a relationship -- a wedding and then children. Your girlfriend is still young and not thinking maturely. When she's 35 and her biological clock is ticking away, she will want what most women do -- a husband, children and a house of her own. Staying single just because her mother is not agreeable is not the solution.

shaun asked, Hi LG, when one is betrayed in love they are advised to forgive-forget n move ahead in life though the life has already been spoiled to an irreparable extent as there is no substitute for first true love. However those who betray move scot free n are hence encouraged to commit more betrayals. Dont u agree ? What do u have to say about it ?

Love Guru answers, No, I don't agree. Your life is never spoiled irrepairably unless you let it be so spoiled. Those who have an optimistic outlook and are willing to trust and love again are happy in the long run. That your first love is the only true love is an utter fallacy. By that standard, the crush you probably had in high school is your soulmate -- in reality, that's just puppy love!

rajiv asked, hi,i am the for the first time writing u wid lotzz of hope.. see what the actual problem is that my frnd who is a girl likes a guy in our institute, now see this guy is junior to her,she had just seen him once or twice,,but she says that she likes him a lot,,she says she likes his eyes and the shirts he wears,,now this is not a problm that she likes him,,but the problm is that if this is right to like a person that too a junior on the basis of his beautiful eyes and the shirts he wear,,, plz this is my first time, i m writing ,,plz help LG u too take care of urself,,

Love Guru answers, Rajiv, she has a crush on him. And there's no harm in that -- so what if he's junior? A crush is exactly that -- attraction to a person who you don't always know too well. Why are you so bothered by the way she feels? It sounds like you, on the other hand, have a crush on her, since her feelings for this junior are obviously bothering you!

sinks asked, hey i was seriously in love with a gurl.we were good for an year. Now currently she left to UK for her work. She is a person who already had a break. This is the first luv fo me. Now she s saying m not ready now.I loved her bcoz she know the pain of a break up and she ll be good to me. Now she is saying u get away from me. After all happened i was totally upset. After that i felt not to disturb her and told lets be friends because even though you hurt me i cant leave us as such. I promised her lets be frnds. Now she stated calling me. What should i do now.. How should i take this further

Love Guru answers, You were naive to think that she wouldn't leave you, just because she's been left by someone else. If she doesn't think this relationship can last, it's only natural that she will break it off. And since you said let's be friends, don't you think she might just be calling as a friend and you're reading too much into it?

rakshit asked, hi guru, I was in relation ship with one girl since 2.5 years and l still love her and she also love me same but wehne we thought about marrige my parents had not accpted me this as we are not from same caste , also in my family all have been arranged in caste marriges only ., my parents are orthodox , i cant leave them as i am only son , also at same time i dont wnat to spoil her life coz me so now we have split up, she is in same city with me i know all conatcts of her but as there is pressure from her home now to do marriage she asked me to do marrige going against my parents , she hasnt told about me in her home still , as i had stooped her doing so as my parents were not ready , I m missing her every momnet and i finding it really impposble taht i can forget my first love as i have to sacrifice due to my parents . Please guide me .

Love Guru answers, Rakshit, stop being so self-sacrificing already and think of your future happiness. If your parents are behaving unreasonable and old-fashioned, it's not your fault. You're the only son -- again, not your fault. I would suggest telling your parents to move with the times and accept yuor decision. If you want to marry this girl, don't let their emotional blackmail stop you. But I do hope both you and your girl are adults over the age of 24 -- if not, wait till you are more mature to make a decision.

Hemal asked, Hello LG, Is it true taht love fades away. I m in a reltionsgip with a girl for teh als 7years. I love her & care for her, but her love has faded away. ALtough she doesnt tell this upfront but i can feel it. what shud be my take in such a situation...

Love Guru answers, Hemal, you need to confront her. There's no point in continuing in a relationship that is based on habit rather than love. If only the romantic spark is missing, revive it! Be romantic, be spontaneous and enjoy your time together.

Love Guru says, Goodbye, people! See you here next week! You can also email me at mailtheloveguru@rediffmail.com! Cheers!
