All you need, and then some: the Nokia E90

September 27, 2007
The E90 is in exclusive company -– few phones can match its range of features, most top quality. Of course, all this comes at a price; but who said there are free lunches going around?

Key features
~ Has a solid build, with both a numeric keypad and a QWERTY keyboard which lights up.
~ Wi-Fi enabled to browse the net and manage mails on the move.
~ Has a 2-inch QVGA screen on the top face and a large 4-inch, 800 x 352-pixel LCD screen inside but no touchscreen.
~ Supports various messaging clients including BlackBerry Connect, and allows you to browse the net and transfer media-rich files.
~ Comes with a FM radio, Music player and Realplayer (for streaming audio, video and MP4 video files).

The frills
A QCIF camera sits at the top left corner of the inside screen for making video calls, while the 3.2 megapixel camera with flash and autofocus allows for some good quality pictures.

The Quickoffice (documents, spreadsheets, and presentations), Zip Manager and Adobe Acrobat Reader applications let you view and edit documents.

Convenient short cut keys enable quick access to voice and data functions. The intergrated GPS functionality allow for easy location of meeting venues, restaurants, and places of interest for those on the move.

It also comes with some great voice functions including Voice dialing, Voice commands (for menu short cuts, keypad lock, and profiles), Voice recording for making notes or recording conversations, Internet Call release 2.1 for making VoIP (voice over IP) calls, Text-to-speech message reader and an Integrated handsfree speaker.

Some techie stuff
A quad-band GSM phone, allows you to use it on any continent. Comes with up to 128 MB free memory for user data and applications, expandable 2GB with a microSD memory card. Connect using Wi-Fi, USB, Bluetooth and Infrared.

What's not good
The QWERTY keyboard may be useful, but its wide span may make longer use tiring for the thumbs. And it's not big enough to be used with fingers.

Weight and dimensions
Weighs 210g, with dimensions of 132 x 57 x 20 mm. May seem big, but can still fit snugly into your trouser pockets.

Street Price
Rs 35,000
