In the land of Lord Buddha
When we reached Bakhtiyarpur station in Bihar an hour behind schedule, it was early morning. Emerging from the station complex, we boarded the waiting vehicle for Rajgir, Nalanda and Bodhgaya, the famous Buddhist circuit that we had embarked upon.

Rajgir and Bodhgaya, which is associated with Lord Buddha, attract the people from all over the world. It is one of the most important pilgrim centres for Buddhists. The places have immense importance from a historical and spiritual point of view.
Our first destination was Rajgir, known as Rajgriha in older times, which was once the capital of the Magadh empire. The road was not bad, with some rough patches in between. At a distance, we could see hills dotted with trees.
