As far as international names go, Pravin says Swatch, Tag Heuer, Fossil and Guess lead the pack when it comes to teenage demand. Amongst Indian brands, Timex (a foreign make that manufactures watches in India) Titan, Sonata and Maxima are the most popular. "After Bollywood actress Rani Mukherji became brand ambassador for Titan Raga (a range exclusively for women), the sales of those watches has shot up," he says.

But if you're hankering for a branded watch, make sure you have deep pockets -- Indian brands start at around Rs 1500 per watch, and international ones are available from Rs 3000 upwards. Of course, you can always opt for an unbranded timepiece which will cost you as little as Rs 150.
