The magic and mystery of Arunachal Pradesh

The weather changes frequently. Mist and clouds can envelope the town. On a bright day it looks brilliant with Tawang Monastery glowing in the distance.

For those interested in history: Tawang has witnessed the 1962 war between India and China. One could see the bunkers on way up from Jaswantgarh right upto Bumla on the Indo-China border. There's a war memorial at Tawang and also at Jaswantgarh, Se La, Nuranang and Jang, where battles were fought.

One early morning we set out for Bumla, situated at a height of 15,500 feet. The weather was cloudy for most of the day. `'We get sunlight for hardly about an hour a day here," an armyman posted there told us.
