We resumed our trek at 3.30 pm.
We were another four kms away from Lobo house, where we planned to stay the night. We crossed a farmhouse (the last point for vehicles) after which there was a small footpath to follow.
Half an hour later we reached an anti-poaching camp. We borrowed a pot from them to cook our dinner. However there was no guide waiting for us here as promised by the forest office. And we were told Lobo house was another 3 kms away.
We came across a lone tree standing at the mouth of a valley. It had a concrete base built around it. We sat there for some time enjoying the panoramic view of the hills and valley beyond. From this point on we were entering the Kudremukh National Park.
When we had walked through the forest and grass-covered hills for about half and hour we came across the foundation of a ruined house. Adjoining the ruins stood a wooden shelter, also in ruins. We sat there for a time deciding our next course of action. We wondered if the ruins were all that was left of the Lobo house. Or if it was somewhere further on.
