What you can do
Trekking: There are quite a few points in Coorg like Kote Betta, Nishahimotte, Thadiyandamole and Pushpagiri. Of these, Thadiyandamole is the highest peak and has a trekking distance of 15 kilometres to and fro.
Treks are arranged by local guides and cost about Rs 450 per head per day, which includes food and accommodation in tents. Treks are not organised in the monsoons though, when leeches tend to be a problem.
Plantation visits: If you aren't staying at a plantation, you can always visit one. Local guides arrange visits for Rs 250 per head.
Shopping: Coorg is famous for spices like cardamom, clove and cinnamon, coffee and honey. One can also buy traditional daggers carried by the men.
