Tibetan Monastery (38 kilometres): The Nyingmapa Tibetan Monastery and Golden Temple is situated in Kushalnagar and houses huge, breathtaking statues of the Buddha.

One can visit the monastery and watch monks chanting from the scripture. One can also ask the monks -- there are about 7,000 living here -- for a tour of the place.
