Welcome to the coverage of the IPL 2025 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings in Bengaluru on Saturday.
The weather is likely play spoilsport as rain is predicted for the Saturday's match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
The city has been experiencing consistent spells of rain for the past couple of days and the weather forecast during the match hours on Saturday evening is not encouraging.
The weather is clear for now but some rain is predicted later in the evening.
N Puviarasu, Director of the India Meteorological Department (IMD)'s Centre in Bengaluru, confirmed that light to moderate rain is expected in Bengaluru.
"Light to moderate rain and thundershowers with gusty winds (40–50 kmph) are likely to occur at many places, not only in Bengaluru but also in Bengaluru Rural, Ballari, Davanagere, Vijayanagara, Ramanagara, Chikkaballapura, Kolar, Shivamogga, Mysuru, Mandya, Kodagu, and Chamarajanagar districts on Saturday," Puviarasu told PTI.
Accuweather has also predicted thunderstorms for a couple of hours from 7pm IST onwards.
However, if the rain relents then match could get underway without much time being wasted as the outfield at M Chinnaswamy Stadium uses the SubAir drainage system, which dries the outfield quickly once it stops raining.
RCB will be hoping for a full match as they look for victory to boost their play-off hopes, while the already eliminated CSK will be playing for pride.
The match offers fans the opportunity to see icons Virat Kohli and Mahendra Singh Dhoni battling against each other, perhaps, one final time in the IPL.
