'He is a very independent person, not at all demanding'

March 7, 2008

My daughter travels with him most of the time. But he is a very independent person, not at all demanding. He does most of the things by himself.

When I was there, a match was going on in Colombo, so I went to the stadium and watched him play. That was the first time I was watching a game live. Till then I had not been to a cricket stadium. That day Murali took three wickets.

But unlike me, my late husband used to be a big cricket fan. He never used to miss any match though he also was a doctor. He had watched Murali play but never knew one day he would be our son-in-law.

I missed my husband when Murali broke the world record. I know how proud he would have been. Had my husband been alive, I am sure he would have been there in Kandy.
