India vs England, 1st Test, Day 1

England won the toss in warm, sunny conditions and elected to bat in the first Test against India at Lord's on Thursday.
India went into the match with a three-man seam attack of Zaheer Khan, Shanthakumaran Sreesanth and Rudra Pratap Singh. The trio will be supported by leg-spinner Anil Kumble, who made his Test debut on India's 1990 tour of England.
India have not won a series in England since 1986.
