The Sultans of Multan

Complete coverage | Match report | Scorecard

The stage was set for the Little Master to take control. India were 173 for 2 with Sehwag going great guns when Sachin Tendulkar walked into the middle.

Tendulkar proceeded to play a sensible knock on the way to his highest Test score against Pakistan. He and Sehwag put on 336 runs for the third wicket and virtually batted Pakistan out of the contest.

Tendulkar was unlucky to miss his double century as stand-in captain Rahul Dravid declared the innings closed, leaving him just six runs short of a second successive double hundred.
