The Sultans of Multan
Complete coverage | Match report | Scorecard
Nineteen-year-old rookie Irfan Pathan brought back memories of Wasim Akram, though this time the Pakistanis were at the receiving end.
The left-armer's relentless display of line and length bowling brought him six wickets in the match and the admiration of former greats from both countries.
"Pathan can't scare us. He simply does not have the pace. What Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammed Sami can do against Indian batsmen, Pathan cannot do against our batsmen," Javed Miandad had said in an interview to rediff.com before India's tour to Pakistan.
After just one Test match, the combative Miandad was forced to eat his words!!
