The class of 2014 was an impressive one.
And the new year has some promising new actors as well.
Here's looking at the debutants, who will grace the big screen this year.
Sapna Pabbi, Khamoshiyan
Sapna Pabbi left an impression as Anil Kapoor's daughter in the television series 24.
Now, she will be seen as the leading lady in Mahesh Bhatt's supernatural thriller, Khamoshiyan.
Gurmeet Choudhary, Khamoshiyan
Sapna's co-star in Khamoshiyan is the very popular TV actor, Gurmeet Choudhary, who makes his movie debut with this film.
Gurmeet is the mysterious element in the film.
The film's third actor is Ali Fazal.
Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty, Hero
Director Nikhil Advani's Hero features two debutants, Aditya Pancholi's son Sooraj and Suniel Shetty's daughter Athiya.
Sooraj has been in the news for a while now, but he has producer Salman Khan's strong backing.
Hero, incidentally, is the remake of Subhash Ghai's 1983 hit Hero, starring Jackie Shroff and Meenakshi Sheshadri.
Akshara Haasan, Shamitabh
Kamal Haasan and Sarika's younger daughter Akshara will make her debut in K Balki's Shamitabh, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush.
With the kind of lineage the young actress boasts of, talent obviously runs in her veins.
Karan Singh Grover, Alone
Qubool Hai actor Karan Singh Grover will make his transition to the big screen with Alone.
Quite a good idea for his female fans, who can have a better look at his fab abs.
His chemistry with Bipasha Basu in this horror movie looks interesting too.
Bhumi Pednekar, Dum Laga Ke Haisha
For Yash Raj Films staffer Bhumi Pednekar, it seems like a stroke of luck, as she embarks on an acting career.
Though the film went on floors some time back, the makers have decided to release it in April.
Let's see how she fares with co-star Ayushmann Khurrana.
Five newcomers, Calendar Girls
There is an air of secrecy around five newcomer girls in Madhur Bhandarkar's next film, Calendar Girls.
So far, the director has only released a still of them in bikinis, keeping their faces hidden.
We'll know more about them when the film releases in May.
Karan Johar, Bombay Velvet
If the makers had stuck to the film's original release date, Bombay Velvet would have released in 2014, and Karan Johar would have already made his acting debut.
Though we have seen K Jo on the big screen before -- he played Shah Rukh Khan's best friend in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge -- he will make his proper acting debut in Anurag Kashyap's Bombay Velvet, where he plays the main antagonist.
The film also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma.
Kunal Kohli and Jennifer Winget, Phir Se
Critic-turned-director-turned-producer, Kunal Kohli has worn quite a few hats in his showbiz career.
Kohli will now turn actor in his next directorial outing Phir Se.
In this mature love story, he will have another debutante Jennifer Winget for company.
Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher, Mirziya
Director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra will direct Anil Kapoor's son Harshvardhan and Tanvi Azmi's niece Saiyami Kher in Mirziya.
The film is currently on the floors.
