9. Govinda

December 24, 2007

We've missed him.

Nobody can carry off mindless farce quite like Chi-Chi, and it's great to see him back doing what he does best. Nikhil Advani's Salaam-E-Ishq was supposed to be the multistarrer comeback, but while the film turned out to be the longest dud of the year, Govinda escaped with lesser damage than the others -- largely because it was just good to see him back.

Then came Partner, again with Salman Khan. The brainless Hitch remake clicked, and how. Suddenly both director David Dhawan and Govinda became fan favourites again, with Govinda clearly stealing the show away from Salman.

That comic timing is still bloody impeccable.
