Pavithra Lokesh

Girish Kasaravalli's Naayi Neralu has won the Best film award from the state of Karnataka. And, the Best actress award went to Pavithra Lokesh. Yes, she had given exceptional performances in Yajamana and Gowramma earlier and had won the state award for the Best Supporting actress for her performance in Ultaa Paltaa. But with Naayi Neralu, she has won the Best Actress award.

Her father the late Mysore Lokesh, a well known actor for the versatility he had shown in films. But Pavithra was not able to prove her mettle as a lead actress as she was offered only glamourous lead roles. So she started accepting character roles which gave her ample scope to showcase her talent. Finally it was the television serials that gave her the scope to perform. Girish Kasarvalli selected her for Naayi Neralu because of Pavithra Lokesh’s super hit serial Guptha Gaamini.
