Darshan
Compared to 2005, success has not favoured Darshan in 2006. his films except Thangigaagi had appreciable openings. The year started with the release of Mandya directed by Om Prakash Rao to a huge response. But his second film Suntaragaali released on his birthday on February 16 could not match the hype it had created.
Darshan's third film Datta was just a commission earner. Darshan's last release Thangigaagi was a clear let down and both producers and distributors lost money. But satisfying factor for Darshan this year is that his first attempt as a producer has yielded great results as Jothe Jotheyalli is a big hit.
