Before we talk about the multi-million dollar deal you concluded with Alcatel, let me ask you about your reaction to the meltdown in the US economy? Are you worried?
All of us have to be worried.
How worried are you?
Bordering on paranoia! I am paranoid about it. It has been long coming. For the last one year to 18 months, we have been talking about this doomsday.
In India, they are now talking about a loss of 25,000 jobs. As a company that is involved in outsourcing tech-support, what do you think will be the impact on outsourcing?
In our case, we have very little banking exposure, but this meltdown will have a larger and broader impact. I am anticipating lower growth rates for the company as more than 80 per cent of our revenues are from the US market.
If we had 50 per cent growth last year, it will probably come down to 25 per cent. I hope the market will stabilise in two or three years, and then we can climb back to 30 per cent.
