Scorecard
Arnold and Dilshan (in picture) did as well as they could. Unable to lash out, both kept an eye out for the short single, but found their taking difficult against a South African fielding lineup that was close to infallible.
The 65 runs the two added, since the fall of Chamara Silva in the 25th over, got Lanka to a relatively better position on 163/5 at the end of 40; the batting side, heading into the slog, now had a decent wicket or two in hand to attempt the big push with.
Smith went back to his fast men for the slog. With a little bit of extra pace to work with, both Arnold and Dilshan began hitting through the line - shots that, on a fairly large-sized ground, fetched twos to keep the board moving.
