The class of Chelsea
Whenever a striker successfully cut past the strong Chelsea defence he had a harder task in getting past goalkeeper Petr Cech.
The title win was also a special one for Cech, who created a new English Premier League record of not conceding a goal in 781 minutes, moving past the 694-minute record set by former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel in 1997.
Cech played in all the league games this season, thereby denying Carlo Cudicini a single game in the Premiership and the Champions League. In any other team, Cudicini would have been the number one goalkeeper, but, Cech's consistent display throughout the season, saw last year's top goalkeeper spend the entire season on the bench.
He has now kept an incredible 19 clean sheets in 25 Premiership appearances.
Tactical astuteness, rigid discipline and a highly developed team ethic have been the secret of Chelsea's success and this title could just be the start of the Chelsea era.
