The class of Chelsea

Russian business tycoon Roman Abramovich is the architect-in-chief of Chelsea's first Premier League triumph in 50 years.

His investment of around $500 million since taking over the club in 2003 transformed the fortunes of the London team in just two years.

Estimated recently by Forbes magazine to be worth $13.3 billion, making him Russia's richest man and the 21st most wealthy person in the world, Abramovich has friendships with some of the most powerful people in Russia.

He attends almost every match and talks to the players in the dressing room afterwards. He also visits the training ground in Surrey regularly.
